For over 30 years, members of the Rochester AudioVisual Association and media related businesses in the Rochester area have contributed annually to the RAVA Student Scholarship Award.  Since 1976 we have financially helped outstanding college students pursue a course of study in media communications.  To date, dozens of college students have received over $50,000 from our membership.

Local college faculties nominate students from seven area colleges to receive this prestigious award.  SUNY Brockport, Rochester Institute of Technology, St. John Fisher, SUNY Geneseo, Finger Lakes Community College, Monroe Community College, and Genesee Community College using criteria developed at the own schools indicate to RAVA which student in their film or media communications program they feel qualify for the Student Scholarship Award.  We are very pleased to financially help media students in light of spiraling tuition and other media expenditures.

2008 Scholarship Banquet information:

The scholarships will be awarded at a dinner which will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2008. An ‘Italian Feast’ will again be served this year at Valicia’s Restaurant on 2155 Long Pond Road (at the intersection of Spencerport Road) in Gates. The menu will include Prime Rib, Chicken French, Seafood Alfredo, roasted potatoes, pasta, salad, bread and butter, coffee/tea and dessert. Total cost will be $20 and includes gratuity. Social hour will be between 5:30-6:30pm. Dinner will be served at 6:30pm followed by the award presentation and a viewing of the scholarship recipient’s projects. The cost for the evening's event including dinner is $20.00.  Please RSVP by April 18 to scholarship@RAVA.info .
